After earning special mention all-state honors as just a freshman, Ethan Vahl continues to add to his game. This has shown in his play as well as his recruitment for the Meanstreets and Oswego High School point guard.
Now in his sophomore season, Vahl is building from his impressive freshman campaign. He is currently averaging 24 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals per game. This includes one of the most dominant performances of the season by any player with a stat line of 31 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals in a single game versus Plainfield Central.
Back in April, Incarnate Word became the first division program to offer Vahl. Then in May, Eastern Illinois also extended an offer to him. More recently in his recruitment, he took visits to both Eastern Illinois and Northwestern this fall. As well, he had Illinois, Iowa State, and Valparaiso see him at his open gyms.
The season for Vahl and Oswego continues in the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic after Christmas on the 26th at York High School versus Downers Grove South. He ranks amongst the top guards in the Midwest’s 2028 class as few can match his elevated skill set, well-rounded game, and feel.
