It was a tight game throughout between Germantown and New Berlin Eisenhower. This was true to the end as the teams traded baskets in the final seconds. Germantown was able to hit one more shot in the end to grab the thrilling 68-67 win to start their season.

Aidan Bonner – 2027 – G – Germantown

In the first half alone, the junior drilled a trio of threes. Bonner moves well without the ball, quickly gets into his shot, and has good range hitting a couple of these threes from a few steps beyond the line. Bonner was also playing with great energy defending his man as well as diving on the floor for a loose ball.

Thaison Martin – 2026 – G – New Berlin Eisenhower

Martin excelled in his role as the shooter in this game. The senior guard scored 16 points while hitting five threes in the game. Not only did he hit five threes but did so extremely efficiently going 5-7 from the outside all while coming off the bench.

Mavox Nimani – 2026 – G/F – New Berlin Eisenhower

Nimani is a versatile wing who shined in this game showing all of his tools. He was near unstoppable in the first half where he scored 15 of his 20 points in the game. He did the bulk of his scoring with his jumper hitting four threes in the game as well as a mid-range jumper plus going 6-6 from the line. The 6’4” wing did so much more though including running the point at times, creating for others well with 4 assists, and grabbed some tough rebounds.

Jake Veley – 2026 – SF – New Berlin Eisenhower

After a slow first half, Veley came alive in the second half scoring 14 points in this half alone. Right from the start of the second half, the senior came out very aggressive attacking the basket with a pair of and one driving plays. Veley scored it well around the paint all half and getting to the line very often including a go ahead drive with just 14 seconds to get his team up one. He is an extremely well-rounded wing who was doing whatever was needed of him. This includes his tough versatile defensive play, rebounding, and creating for others.

JJ Walters – 2026 – SF – Germantown

Walters played the heroes role in the win for Germantown. With his team down one in the final seconds, he hit a tough step back jumper with under two seconds to play that was the game winner. This was in addition to a pair of tough driving baskets through plenty of contact down the stretch as Walters would not be stopped in the final minutes. He finished the game with 22 points as he also hit a couple of threes with his high release. Walters is a smart and well-rounded wing who plays very well to his strengths.
