The high school season is off and running and with that means a hungry group of 2026 prospects are looking to wrap their high school careers in strong fashion.  One of the more intriguing ones is 6-5 wing Thian Riak of Madison LaFollete (WI).

An uber athletic versatile wing, Riak suffered a leg injury last season shutting down his junior campaign, which also sidelined him for the spring and summer.  Finally back to full health, Riak hit the hardwood with an electric 30-point performance to start the season and firmly established himself once again as one.  the talented 2026 prospects left on the board in Wisconsin.

Equipped with plus length and a versatile super athletic frame, Riak has shown flashes of being a quality defender of multiple positions and offensively the senior wing can finish in highlight fashion both in traffic and transition while also showing an ability to score at the mid-level and occasionally from beyond the arc.  Having basically lost a season of hoops due to the injury, Riak is still dusting off some of the rust, but his best years are in front of him.

His season debut looks like a quality appetizer to what could very well be a plate full of high-quality performances for this sleeper in the Badger state.  Make no mistake, this athletic wing is a must watch talent for low to mid D1’s and high level D2 programs looking for a potential last-minute steal in the 2026 class regionally.
