With high school seasons starting up around the region, it is a bit of a slower recruitment time. Though here is the news that took place over the past seven days.
Senior guard Kyler Berghuis of Unity Christian and West Michigan Premier has made his college commitment. Berghuis will be headed to Calvin University next year. Calvin had initially offered him back in May of this year. With his commitment to Calvin, he is joining his West Michigan Premier and Unity Christian teammates Owen VanderWaal and Jack Kamminga in their 2026 recruiting class.
It was a big several days for Calvin University as Berghuis was not the only recent commitment for them. Senior guard Will Plummer of Grand Haven High School and West Michigan Lakers also announced his commitment to Calvin.
Another commitment coming from the WM Premier program came from Adam Dugener. The senior guard of North Muskegon High School made his commitment to Alma College. Alma was the first program to have offered him taking place back in May.
Bethel University picked up a commitment from a senior out of Wisconsin. This came from 6’7” wing forward Brody Olson of Glenwood City High School.
Braden Goodpaster has continued to be a very popular target amongst NAIA and division three programs over the past couple of months. The newest offer for the 6’4” senior of Center Grove High School came from University of St. Francis.
Albion College has extended an offer out to Nick Mikolowski, a 6’5” senior forward of Clare High School and Team Hustle. He also received an offer from Midwestern State earlier this month.
From Fraser High School and the Reach Legends program, senior Brady Slone has added an offer from Kalamazoo College.
Jermaine Thomas-Curtis, a senior guard of Johnson High School, has received his first pair of offers in the past few days. These two offers came from Des Moines Area CC and then Lake Region State College.
Briar Cliff University has extended an offer out to Noah Stencel, a senior two guard of Princeton High School and the Minnesota Heat Conyers.
