2022 C David Craig was one prospect that really improved from the beginning of the summer until the end.  He was a bit of an unknown to most being recently relocated to Tennessee from South Africa.  He was a prospect that many college coaches noticed due to his size and physical traits, but he is one that has tremendous upside and could be a very good player at the next level.  He has great instincts and great work ethic and will be one that schools are going to be paying close attention to.

Offensively he can play with his back to the basket and create incredible size matchups for anyone at the high school level.  He has improved his footwork around the paint and finishes well at the rim with contact.  He is solid in pick and roll situations because of his increased ability to shoot the outside shot.  His range is getting increasingly better as teams try to push him away from the basket, he has developed the ability to turn and face and make mid-range jump shots.  While still improving his free throws, he has increasingly showed more consistency from the foul stripe as teams are constantly getting in foul trouble because of his aggressiveness attacking the rim.  One of his biggest areas of improvement has been his ability to run the floor.  He has trimmed down and has gotten in better condition to be able to play at a faster pace.

Defensively he is a great rim protector because of his size and length.  His height at the high school level makes it extremely difficult for post players to get position against him down low.  He anticipates very well and moves his feet.  He is a gifted rebounder.  He understands where he is on the floor and boxes out well to couple his height.  This gives him the ultimate advantage for players his age.  His steady improvement and attitude on and off the court are just a few of the reasons that college coaches were lining up to see him play this past summer to watch his progress.

Many of the schools in the region have been playing close attention to his progress and it is only a matter of time before his offers will start to pile up.  Mercer is just one of the schools that have been in constant contact who recently offers and this list will only grow over the next six months.  Craig competed this past summer for the talented Tennessee Tigers 17u group based out of Tennessee.
