As the 2021 class are now upperclassmen there are plenty of them in the spotlight. However, there are many talented 2021 players still waiting for their time to shine. Here are five juniors that are below the radar but look ready to take a big step forward this upcoming season...

Joshua Ausler – 2021 Point Guard – Rockford Auburn HS (IL)
Smooth point guard that scores the ball at a high level. Very shifty with the ball and great acceleration to penetrate the defense with ease and score around the paint. Can also shoot the ball well off the dribble. Has all the tools to be one of the top junior point guards in Illinois.

Jalen Butler – 2021 – Small Forward – Niles North HS (IL)
Incredibly strong and athletic 6’6” forward. Highly versatile player that can do so much on both ends of the floor. One of the toughest rebounders around that can beat out almost anyone for missed shots. Has good agility and quickness for his size to defend on the perimeter but plays very big on the inside as well. Offensive game has progressed nicely adding a perimeter jumper to his arsenal plus is tough off the dribble to stop.

Selle Dime – 2021 – Forward/Center – Gola Meir HS (WI)
Height? Length? Athletic? Big time motor? Dime checks all those boxes. The 6’8” big man is still developing but he has plenty of tools and such a high ceiling. He makes his biggest impact in the defensive paint as a highly skilled rim protector who can block shots in bunches as well to being a quality rebounder. The mobile junior performed well at the recent NY2LA Futures Camp and was able to make a big impact in the paint on both ends.

Walter Mattingly – 2021 – Small Forward – Deerfield HS (IL)
Mattingly has a nice combination of size at 6’7” and scoring ability. The wing has a pretty looking jumper from the outside and does a good job creating his own shot. Also handles the ball well and scores it in a variety of ways all over the court. Only a matter of time before all the skills come together and Mattingly is a big time scoring force.

AJ Storr – 2021 – Guard – Kankakee HS (IL)
Physical and athletic wing guard that has the skill to go along with it. At his best attacking the basket, so tough to defend off the dribble. Defenders simply bounce off him on his drives and he absorbs contact well to finish around the basket. Also has a smooth looking jumper from three to rack up the points.
