The string of commitments continues with the early signing period quickly approaching. Ryan Claflin will be staying close to home as he has committed to Wisconsin-Green Bay on Tuesday morning. Claflin is a 6’6” senior guard/forward at Southern Door High School (WI).

While Green Bay was his lone division one offer, Claflin had received plenty of offers from division two schools. Hillsdale College, Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, and Winona State had all previously offered a scholarship to him. Once head coach Linc Darner got involved with the senior, it did not take long. Claflin committed just two weeks after receiving the offer.

Claflin is a bouncy wing with good size who burst onto the scene during his junior season. During the year he averaged 15.5 points per game on his way to first team in the Packerland Conference. He is a strong finisher at the rim who also excels from beyond the arc as a high-level shooter. On the opposite end, he is a quality versatile defender who can guard on perimeter and interior alike.

He will be joining Jacob Jones in the Phoenix’ 2020 recruitment class. Jones is a point guard at Jeffersonville High School in Indiana. Green Bay is coming off a season that saw a deep post season run. They went 21-17 on the season and went all the way to the championship game of the College Insider Tournament before losing to Marshall.
