With a brief video posted on twitter Tuesday night, Keshawn Williams announced his commitment to the University of Tulsa and head coach Frank Haith. Williams is a 6’2” guard of Bloom Township High School (IL) and he played for the Young & Reckless program.

Haith and staff offered Williams back in the beginning of July. He recently took his official visit to the Tulsa campus just over a week ago.

The senior chose the Golden Hurricanes over high-major offers from Colorado, Kansas State, West Virginia. He also had offers from Colorado State, DePaul, Florida Atlantic, George Mason, Loyola-Chicago, Missouri State, Murray State, among a few others.

Williams is a highly athletic and explosive guard. He is an excellent playmaker that can create so well for himself as well as teammates. With his quickness and strong handle, he is incredibly tough to stay in front of but can also shoot it at a high level from the outside.

The Bloom product marks the first commitment for Haith’s 2020 recruitment class. Tulsa is coming off of a 18-14 season. For the upcoming season, they were tabbed tenth in the American Athletic Conference coach’s preseason poll. Coach Haith will be looking for Williams to help the Golden Hurricanes move up in the conference next season.
