La Lumiere has consistently fielded teams with some top flight players over the years and they’re restocked with another group of hoopers who are sure to make an impact at the next level come soon. One of the top players coming through the La Lumiere cog is 2021 Point Guard, Denham Wojcik. He competes on the circuit with another consistent grassroots power, the Illinois Wolves.

Wojcik had a solid run in July with the Wolves and will look to continue that momentum into the prep season. What the 6'1" lead guards offers is steady all-around point guard play with his quickness, handles and ability to drive, create, and score when available. Wojcik is crafty and swift with his movement when using the dribble to get to the paint, and while not the biggest player he has a good feel for getting good shots up over defenders or with those crazy moves to get defenders off the feet early and create fouls. He can make any pass on the attack, he has a little mid-range jumper that keeps the defense honest also. His vision is excellent and his teammates constantly benefit from him giving them open opportunities.

Defensively Wojcik is still working to get stronger physically, but his quickness, effort and competitiveness keeps him effective in the meantime. His hands and feet are quick which helps him with his on-the-ball defense and his IQ defensively to play in help early is high.

With his basketball instincts, craftiness, quickness and court awareness, Wojcik has attracted some schools who have already offered the 6’1” floor general. Those schools are Army-West Point, Brown, Bucknell, Loyola-Chicago, and Southern Illinois. He is also receiving interest from Baylor, Davidson, George Mason, George Washington, Harvard, Miami (OH), Northwestern, Saint Mary's, and Villanova. It should be a fun year for Wojcik as he continues to compete and build his hoops portfolio for the collegiate level.
