As 2020 prospects go there are a number of them nationally who may have hit their full stride already and others who are just starting their ascent.  While the former is always intriguing when the size and skill is there, the ladder is equally as intriguing in that the ceiling has yet to be reached and the best is yet to come.  One talented junior prospect who fits the ladder is Wisconsin native Desmond Polk of the La Lumiere School in Indiana.

A solid student, the near 6-4 160 plus pound scoring guard is looking to continue his ascent nationally after a strong travel campaign that saw him secure an invitation to the prestigious Nike Elite 100 Camp while helping his travel team to multiple tournament championships and a runner-up finish at the prestigious Nike Peach Jam this past July.  An excellent catch and shoot prospect, Polk showed an ability to score in bunches from multiple levels on the perimeter while also doubling as a lock down defender both on and off the ball this past spring and summer.  Add to the mix plus length, solid instincts, and athleticism that allows him to soar in transition and it’s easy to see why Polk is quickly becoming one of the more intriguing shooting guards in the 2020 class.

Iowa has offered Polk recently and the talented guard also holds offers from Kansas State, DePaul, Minnesota, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Bradley, Missouri State, UW-Milwaukee, and UW-Green Bay.  Still developing both physically and skill wise, Polk is far from a finished product and the talented guard is a must watch 2020 prospect regionally and nationally who is primed to elevate regionally and nationally with continued development both physically and skill wise in the coming months.

Polk plays with the Wisconsin based Phenom University program during the grassroots travel season.
