The Class of 2020 continues to see names from coast to coast step to the forefront as national prospects to pay close attention to and regardless of the area you live in you can bet that there’s some highly coveted talent in that class somewhere near you.  Sophomore lead guard Nimari Burnett of Prolific Prep (CA) has been in that class for some time now.

A native of Chicago who elevated to national status in his middle school years, Burnett is a long lean 6-4 lead guard with plus length and serious game.  He handles the ball well, his range extends beyond the arc, and he’s shown the ability to create and score off dribble drive penetration from the mid-range level.  Still developing physically and skill wise, Burnett is a talented national prospect who is just scratching the surface of his potential.

He added a couple of early offers from the previous staff at Illinois and De Paul and since then schools like Michigan, Stanford, USC, Arizona State, and Xavier has kicked the tires with early interest.  In the midst of a solid sophomore campaign right now for Prolific Prep, Burnett is averaging close to 15 points 7 assists and 3 rebounds per contest.  As 2020 prospects go Burnett is a legitimate high major talent who is primed to take off nationally with a strong spring and summer campaign as he has the size, instincts, skill, and potential to be an impact talent at the next level.

Burnett played with the Dream Vision program this past spring and summer.
