Yesterday we traveled to Minnesota and over into Michigan and today we slide down into Illinois where 2020 G/F Isaiah Rivera of Geneseo High School in Illinois is continuing to open eyes with his stellar all around play this season.  A standout at the middle school level, Rivera has really hit his stride the past 6-9 months on the hardwood and he’s quickly elevated himself into the conversation of Division 1 prospects in the 2020 class in Illinois.

Equipped with a powerful near 6-5 190 pound frame, Rivera is a skilled wing who’s shown the ability to put the ball in the basket with consistency all season long. After a solid showing at a couple of fall camps including, but not limited to, the NY2LA Sports Futures Camp in October, Rivera has continued his ascent on the hardwood by delivering some huge performances including a recent 37 point outburst last week.  He can score from every level, he has the ability to attack the rim off the bounce, his perimeter stroke extends beyond the arc, and he’s shown an ability to finish in transition.  Mix in solid instincts, the physical tools in terms of size and length, and continued development in terms of his speed and quickness and the recipe is there for a blooming 2020 prospect that continues to take flight across schools radars at virtually every level.

Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, Northwestern, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa State, Northern Iowa, Northern Illinois, and Stanford have already kicked the tires and shown early interest on the emerging wing who already holds and offer from Southern University in Louisiana.  With each passing week various 2020 prospects are popping up and opening more and more eyes nationally and Rivera is right there in the thick of that group with strong performances each week.  A gifted 2020 prospect with solid potential and his best basketball in front of him, expect to hear a lot about this young wing over the next 12-24 months as he continues to look the part of a legitimate Division 1 prospect whose recruiting trail may fill up substantially moving forward as he continues to develop.

Rivera plays with the Quad City Elite during the grassroots travel season.
