One of the hottest prospects in the Midwest, Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis 2018 small forward Aaron Henry picked up 15 total offers in the months of June and July. Although his recruitment was taking off in a major way, Henry felt it was time to cut things down.

“I wasn’t just collecting offers, I took everyone into consideration,” Henry told NY2LA Sports. “I’m not a person to say ‘no.’ It humbled me, but I had to make certain decisions. I hated to do it, but I did it.  I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Harris cut his list down to Butler, Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Xavier. He broke down the five finalists with NY2LA Sports.

Butler: “I know who they are, I know what I’m getting there. Not only with the coaches, but with the fans. It’s a good place to be.”

Illinois: “The numbers Coach Underwood (Brad Underwood) put up at Oklahoma State are hard to say ‘no’ to. I can’t wait to see what Illinois does this year. I can definitely see myself in blue and orange.

Michigan State: “Playing for Team Harris, it’s always been a dream to get a Michigan State offer. I was humbled by it. I can’t wait to take an official. It’s just a blessing.”

Ohio State: “Coach Holtmann (Chris Holtmann) and the whole staff, they win games. They’ve been highly ranked. They have the ability to get you better each and every day. That’s all I need.”

Xavier: “They’re in my top two or three. They’ve been recruiting me for so long. Coach Mack (Chris Mack) is a great coach and the whole staff is, really. I’m anxious to see more about what they have to offer.”

Henry will unofficially visit Xavier on Aug. 20 and Ohio State on Aug. 27. He may narrow things down to a final three and then use officials before making a decision prior to his senior season.

“I’ll probably use my officials when football season rolls around,” he said. “I just want the best fit for my next four years in college. I want to be used all over the court and wherever I can come in, get the most minutes, and dominate.”

Henry played for Team Harris during the travel season.
