Boosting his stock after a strong spring on the Nike EYBL Circuit, Orono (Minn.) 2018 power forward Jarvis Thomas has emerged as a priority prospect for a number of high major programs. As more attention continues to come his way, Thomas said four teams are currently making the biggest push going into the July evaluation period.

“Marquette, Arizona State, Wake Forest, and Texas A&M are recruiting me the hardest right now,” Thomas told NY2LA Sports.

Thomas has other offers from Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Oregon State, Iowa State, and more.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pound senior will likely be able to add the Gophers to the list of schools recruiting him hardest shortly as head coach Richard Pitino and company made their move last move.

“Didn’t include Minnesota because they just recently offered,” Thomas said. “It just felt good to know that home is an option. They said they like the play I am and the type of person. I can play a Jordan Murphy role – more of a hype man, I guess.”

A high-flying max effort type forward, Thomas is averaging 7.0 points per game on 57.5 percent shooting in the EYBL. He also posted 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game.

Thomas is coming off a team camp at Wisconsin. The Badgers have been expressing interest since his eighth grade year.

"They really didn't say much," Thomas explained. "I talked to them a few times. Coach Gard (Greg Gard) just said my shot is starting to look better and gave me some tips on what I can do to improve it."

Thomas claimed additional interest from Michigan, Michigan State, Xavier, Ohio State, Butler, and Northwestern.

“They’re all about equal,” Thomas said of who could be closest to offering. “They just want to see me continue to do what I do.”

No favorites have emerged for Thomas, who said he’ll play out the July evaluation period and likely use his official visits in the fall.

Thomas plays for Howard Pulley during the travel season.
