One of the most athletic forwards in the country, Jarvis Thomas (Orono, Minn.) could be on the verge of some big offers this spring/summer. Already holding four high major scholarships, two of those programs have been making a big push during the season.
"The schools that have been calling me the most are definitely Marquette and Arizona State," Thomas told NY2LASPORTS.COM.
Arizona State: “I like the fast-paced basketball. And the campus is great.”
Marquette: “It’s a really good school. They have some really nice facilities as well.”
Thomas visited both programs during the season. He will return to Arizona State on Saturday for their season finale.
The 6-foot-6, 210-pound junior also holds offers from Iowa State, Oregon State, Cal-State Bakersfield, and Green Bay. Texas, Wisconsin, Baylor, Oregon, and others have showing interest as of late.
“Texas might pull the trigger,” he said. “Oregon could too, I think. Wisconsin might be the closest.”
Wisconsin has watched Thomas a few times this season. Texas is expected to make the trip soon as well. During the 2016-17 season, Thomas has led Orono to a 19-5 season, averaging 15.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Thomas has no leaders at this time. He plans to make a decision just prior to his senior season after using his official visits.
“I’m open to everybody,” he said. “The most important thing will be the relationship with the coaches. Then depending on what I’ll be studying, the school has to be good in that area.”
Thomas will play for the Howard Pulley Panthers program this spring and summer.
