MADISON, Wis. – In a crucial, early battle in the Big Eight, Madison East traveled to Sun Prairie in a matchup between two conference favorites. A tightly contested game throughout, the Cardinals (2-0) edged the Purgolders (1-1) 69-65, thanks to a big second half from 2018 wing Marlon Ruffin.

Keshawn Justice – 2018 – SF – Madison East
A prospect that just gets better and better, Justice continues to add to his game. Primarily a 3-point shooter last year, Justice is doing more in the paint showcased his ability to take defenders off the bounce and finish against contact.

Justice had a huge first half, scoring 19 of his 24 points. The 6-foot-4 junior mixed it up with long distance shooting and dribble drives. Justice is a little quicker and a little more athletic than he was at the end of the summer and you can see his body and athleticism starting to come along.

Holding offers from Drake, Green Bay, Northern Iowa, and Milwaukee, Justice is also picking up high major interest as well. Nebraska, Virginia, Wisconsin, and others were linked to him in July. Coming off a big travel season, Justice has solidified himself as a strong mid-major prospect that continues to show flashes of high major potential.

Marlon Ruffin – 2018 – G/F – Sun Prairie
A prospect that was very under the radar coming up, but is now rising fast is Ruffin. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound wing did some nice things at the end of the summer and is starting to put it all together.

An explosive two-way player, Ruffin gets it done on both ends. Ruffin was quick off the bounce and almost unstoppable when he put it on the deck, both in transition and in the half court. Ruffin finished with a game-high 25 points, including 14 in the second half to lead Sun Prairie.

Ruffin is picking up Division 1 interest this fall. Schools will really like his slashing ability and willingness to defend for 36 minutes.
