A high-upside wing with tremendous length, size, and athleticism, Meridian (Miss.) 2018 shooting guard Tyron Brewer impressed heavily this summer and the talented Brewer now claims three scholarship offers.
Ole Miss: “It was very good to know a hometown college is interested in me. It’s not a bad school at all. They have a good campus and a good basketball program. It’s wonderful up there.”
UMass: “I haven’t looked into them a lot. I know they have a good campus, but I haven’t looked into their basketball program yet.”
UTEP: “They have a pretty good basketball team. I know the campus is wonderful. My family has told me some things about it too. It’s pretty good down there.”
Brewer is also fielding interest from LSU, Florida Gulf Coast, Mississippi State, and Duquesne. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound junior hasn’t taken any visits this fall, but hopes to make a SEC trip in the near future.
“I won’t be taking any visits any time soon,” he said. “When I do start making visits, I’m going to make sure I get to Ole Miss.”
Brewer lists no favorites. He won’t narrow down his list and make a decision until after the July evaluation period. “I know for sure I’m going to play my last AAU season and then go on some visits,” he said. “I want a safe campus, somewhere I’ll be taken care of. Then a place that fits my style of basketball.”
Brewer plays with MBA Hoops during the travel season.
