Guerin Catholic (Noblesville, Ind.) forward Matt Holba has committed to Lehigh University. The 2015 prospect took an official visit to the Patriot League school this weekend which led to his commitment.

Matt Holba took an official visit to Bucknell during the month of June this summer. His second official visit was to Lehigh this weekend. That is when he decided to end his recruitment and pick the Patriot League school.

“I went in and I just loved it. I really felt this was the place for me. This is where I was supposed to be,” said Matt Holba.

Holba had official visits to Princeton and William & Mary also planned before he picked Lehigh. He liked Lehigh enough to cancel those plans.

“It (the commitment) was something that kinda happened. I, obviously, had had thoughts about     them because of the relationship I had built, and everything that they had told me about how I would fit in and where their program is headed. But when I went, it tied it altogether.”

Matt Holba played on the travel circuit with Spiece Indy Heat. He was also a member of the Indiana Junior All-Star team this summer. Prior to his commitment to Leigh, he held scholarship offers from Ohio, Toledo, Valparaiso, Providence, William & Mary and Penn State.

Holba is the first member of Lehigh's 2015 recruiting class.
