Day one of the 2013 Adidas Super 64 kicked off Wednesday from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nev. A number of key early matchups highlighted Wednesday’s action, including Mass Rivals and Jalen Adams, who made an early statement on opening night as did Trevon Bluiett with the Indiana Elite. Here’s a recap from day one of the Super 64….

Top Performers
Ahmaad Rorie – 2014 – PG – Northwest Panthers
6-0 – Lincoln HS – Tacoma, WA
Rorie had a huge second half to help lift the Panthers over Game Elite Wednesday night. The Cal commit scored all 19 of his points after halftime and completely took over the game for stretches a couple of times in the second half. Rorie was unguardable, getting to the rim at will and even hit three shots from downtown as well.

Brandone Francis – 2014 – G/F – Florida Elite
6-5 – ACD HS – Jacksonville, FL
Although his efforts would not be enough, Francis came on late for Florida Elite in their loss to Mass Rivals Wednesday night. The 6-5 wing, scored 17 points, including 14 in the second half alone. Francis made a couple of plays in transition that showed why he’s one of the most coveted prospects in America. He can certainly score the basketball, but the touted prospect is also a willing passer, dropping a handful of dimes.

Damiyne Durham – 2014 – G/F – Franchize All-Stars
6-5 – Oakwood HS – Oakwood, TX
Durham stole the show early, scoring 14 points in the first half alone, forcing New Heights to face guard him up and down the court for roughly three quarters of the game. The 6-5 wing got the ball out quickly and transition and was able to make some athletic plays at the rim. Durham also has quick release from downtown and shoots over defenders well. He finished with 16 points in the loss.

Jalen Adams – 2015 – G – Mass Rivals
6-1 – Cushing Academy – Melrose, MA
Adams showed his capabilities as an outstanding offensive weapon Wednesday night. The junior combo guard scored a game-high 23 points in a win over Florida Elite. Adams finished a number of tough shots in transition, showing some excellent touch on the basketball and fantastic body control. He can also get it done from the outside as Adams connected on a few 3-pointers. The 6-1 guard is also a high-riser and surprised with his ability to play at the rim.

Jaylen Brown – 2015 – SF – Game Elite
6-7 – Wheeler HS – Alpharetta, GA
Brown is an intriguing forward that can handle the ball in transition and has some big time athleticism. The 6-7 forward had 11 points in a loss to the Northwest Panthers Wednesday night, but flashed some big potential. Brown is always looking to attack and also sets up his teammates well in transition.

Michael Bourke – 2014 – SG – New Heights
6-4 – Hun HS – South Orange, NJ
Bourke scored a game-high 20 points for New Heights in a win over the Franchize All-Stars. Bourke got hot towards the end of the first half and early in the second half, hitting five 3-pointers. The 6-4 sharpshooter did a nice job of finding soft spots in the zone and is always ready to shoot.

Trevon Bluiett – 2014 – SF – Indiana Elite
6-5 – Park Tudor HS – Indianapolis, IN
Bluiett picked his spots early, only scoring a couple of points in the first half. However the 6-5 forward would explode in the second half and finish with a game-high 21 points. Bluiett was very solid from the mid-range, taking advantage of bigger forwards trying to guard him.

Star Watch
Goodluck Okonoboh – 2014 – PF – Mass Rivals
6-9 – Wilbraham Monson HS – Wilbraham, MA
Okonoboh was quiet during Mass Rivals’ win over Florida Elite Wednesday night. The 6-9 forward scored just two points, while only taking a few shots from the field. However, his post presence greatly impacted the game. Okonoboh can affect a game greatly without lighting up the stat sheet as he altered and blocked numerous shots Wednesday.

Kaleb Joseph – 2014 – G – Mass Rivals
6-2 – Cushing Academy – Ashburnham, MA
Joseph scored seven points for Mass Rivals in their win over Florida Elite. The 6-2 combo guard struggled from the field a bit, but did do a nice job of pushing in transition and creating for his teammates.
