NY2LASports.com National Positional Rankings - PF

By Antonio Curro - NY2LASports.com

Interior prospects are always a premium as rebounding the basketball and dominating in the paint are always keys to victory no matter what level is being talked about.  In the end, it's the big boys that set the table for everyone else to eat.  While a host of young talent puts it down in the paint year after year, a quick glance has the 2010 and 2011 classes looking very strong at the PF position but there's a young man from the deep South that could become that guy when it's all said and done.

Here's a look at the top 10...Subscribers can see the full list here

1
Johnny O'Bryant III 2011 6'8" East Side (MS) Jackson Tigers Physical specimen with the physical tools and mid range game to be that dude.  Excellent mid range stroke.  Sky is the limit...drips with pro potential.
2
Jared Sullinger 2010 6'8" Northland Sr. (OH) All-Ohio Big tough powerful interior prospect who dominates on the blocks.  Pencil in a double double each night.  Physically dominant.
3
Derrick Favors 2009 6'9" South Atlanta (GA) Atlanta Celtics Has the physical tools to become a dominant interior prospect.  Skill set on the blocks is still raw.  Excellent upside.  Could play the Center position too.
4
Mike Shaw 2011 6'8" DeLaSalle (IL) Mac Irvin Fire Excellent young interior prospect who can step away from the basket with effectiveness.  Exceptional upside.  Sky is the limit...it's up to him.
5
Tristan Thompson 2010 6'8" St. Benedict Prep (NJ) Grassroots Canada Exceptional young interior prospect with the potential to become a dominant big at the next level.
6
Melvin Tabb 2010 6'8" Enloe (NC) N.C. Raptors Excellent physical tools and athleticism to become an explosive interior prospect.  Drips with talent, tools, and upside.  Highly underrated nationally.

8
Joshua Langford 2010 6'6" J.O. Johnson (AL) Alabama Lasers One of the most underrated prospects nationally.  Tough, physical, explosive athlete who has the potential to become a dominant interior prospect at the next level.  Love his floor game and physical tools.
9
DeShawn Painter 2009 6'8" Booker T. Washington (VA) Boo Williams Raw physical talent who's potential and upside continue to land him praises.  Has all the physical tools to be that dude...it all rests on his shoulders.
