6'9" Sam Dowers of Osseo Sr. High School in Minnesota has verbally committed to
attend Gonzaga. Dowers burst upon the scene two summers ago during the
NY2LASports.com Next Level Invitational with the eventual 16U champion Net Gain
Sports program based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He followed that up this past spring and summer with the 17U NGS squad and put
down a number of strong performances this past July that generated offers for
him from a number of high major programs including Marquette and Minnesota
regionally. Late last month he had narrowed his choices down to George
Mason, Marquette, Minnesota, Gonzaga, and California and chose Gonzaga this
evening.
Dowers stood as one of the top available bigs left in the 2009 class in the
Midwest and was one of the top 09' prospects in the state of Minnesota.
